SUMMARY:OB: National Academies Webinar on Strengthening Primary Health Care
DESCRIPTION:The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) invites you to serve as a panelist on March 23, 2022 for a public webinar on strengthening primary health care, that was developed in collaboration with the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH).\nThis public webinar builds on the NASEM consensus report, Implementing High-Quality Primary Care: Rebuilding the Foundation of Health Care. The report contains an implementation plan that includes recommended actions for the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and other stakeholders. To address the pressing health needs of today, and in response to the report, OASH launched the Initiative to Strengthen Primary Health Care (the Initiative). The initiative aims to develop a federal foundation of high-quality primary health care for all that will improve health care access and outcomes, and advance health equity. To support these and other aligned efforts underway across the nation, NASEM is holding a public webinar with subject matter experts identified in consultation with OASH on March 22nd and 23rd, from 10:00am to 1:00pm ET each day. The webinar will feature presentations and discussions on successful models and innovations, implementation guidance, measurement, and partnerships. Please see the attached for additional information about the webinar.\nYou have been highly recommended to participate as a panelist on March 23rd for the session titled, What Activities are Advancing Health Outcomes, Access, and Equity through Primary Health Care Strengthening in States, Territories, and Tribal Nations, which is tentatively scheduled to be held from 10:25am to 11:15am ET. This session will have 4 panelists. We believe that the audience will value hearing your perspective on Southcentral Foundation’s strategy to supporting the Alaskan Native community in achieving their health goals, how the strategy was implemented, and what the federal government could do to support the Foundation’s efforts to scale. You will have up to 7 minutes to present, followed by 20 minutes of moderated panel discussion with the audience. You are welcome to use slides and share content to support your remarks.\n
