SCF is always working with customer-owners to help them achieve overall wellness; this is a vital part of SCF’s Nuka System of Care. In addition to working with customer-owners on an individual level, SCF works with the community to achieve better health as well. One method SCF employs to do this is health marketing.
At Southcentral Foundation, we approach health care as a shared responsibility. We have found that when health care providers build relationships with customers, and work with them as active partners in their care, it leads to better health outcomes and increased customer satisfaction.
Southcentral Foundation is hosting training opportunities in late October. Come to SCF’s campus in Anchorage, Alaska and learn from subject matter experts who work in SCF’s Malcolm Baldrige award-winning Nuka System of Care. SCF is hosting two trainings from October 24-26: Behavioral Health Integration and Integrated Primary Care Team.
It can often be difficult to provide quality health care in remote locations, and behavioral health is no exception to this. Southcentral Foundation has a considerable amount of experience with this; in addition to providing health care services for customer-owners in Anchorage and the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, SCF is also responsible for providing care in 55 rural villages in the Anchorage Service Unit.
Dr. Jerome Adams, the United States Surgeon General, visited Southcentral Foundation this week. Dr. Adams toured the Benteh Nuutah Valley Native Primary Care Center, the Alaska Native Medical Center, and the Anchorage Native Primary Care Center.

At Southcentral Foundation, we have been practicing relationship-based care for two decades. Customer-owners choose their own providers and are always free to choose another if they wish to, but most customer-owners stay with the same providers and form strong, long-term relationships.
