Thank You to Nuka System of Care Conference Attendees

Southcentral Foundation has just concluded its annual Nuka System of Care Conference! Each year, SCF hosts this conference to allow people from around the world to visit our campus in Anchorage, Alaska and learn about our award-winning Nuka System of Care from the same subject matter experts who provide and support the quality health care Nuka is known for. SCF always appreciates the opportunity reconnect with organizations we’ve worked with over the years, and to host people from a wide variety of backgrounds and learn about their experiences providing health care in their communities.

This year was the largest Nuka Conference yet, with over 180 attendees from across the United States and around the world. The conference was preceded by a session of SCF’s Core Concepts training, which was attended by over 100 people. People came from as far away as New Zealand and Sweden to learn about the health care system designed and built by Alaska Native people based on the priorities and values of the Native community. Attendees learned about customer-ownership, relationship-based care, behavioral health integration, workforce development, improvement and innovation, and much more. The conference also featured detailed, in-depth sessions on SCF’s Integrated Care Teams and Behavioral Health Integration Playbooks, which are available for download.

Feedback about the conference was positive, with most people who answered surveys stating that sessions either greatly exceeded or exceeded their expectations. Participants appreciated the chance to learn firsthand about SCF’s system of integrated, relationship-based care.

For those who were not able to attend the conference, SCF has other training opportunities coming up in the months ahead, such as our Integrated Care Teams training in October, which provides an in-depth look at how SCF’s Integrated Care Teams function. And if you would like to learn about any of the topics covered during the conference, or any other aspect of SCF’s Nuka System of Care, feel free to contact the SCF Learning Institute.
