The Annual Nuka Conference
Registration is open for Southcentral Foundation’s annual Nuka Conference! SCF has been hosting Nuka Conferences since 2011. They have attracted visitors from around the world to learn best practices and lessons learned from SCF’s whole system transformation to a relationship-based, customer-owned health care system. The conference offers the opportunity for participants to learn directly from SCF subject matter experts who work in the Nuka System of Care, providing and supporting high-quality care for customer-owners.
The conference offers a wide variety of sessions on various aspects of SCF’s Nuka System of Care, including:
- Integrated Care Teams
- Behavioral Health Integration
- Strategic Planning
- Workforce Development
- Data and Information Management
- Rural and Remote Care
- And more
The conference is preceded by a session of SCF’s Core Concepts training. Core Concepts is a three-day training that teaches communication tools that support the building of relationships with customer-owners and with other employees; all SCF employees go through it. It has been adapted in other health care systems and it serves as a pre-conference that previous conference participants have said should be highly encouraged (if not required!). In Core Concepts, participants join small Learning Circles where they practice the communication tools taught in the training, and learn how to share and receive story.
Feedback from last year’s conference was positive, with most people who answered surveys stating that sessions either greatly exceeded or exceeded their expectations. SCF looks forward to being able to share successes and lessons learned from the Nuka System of Care again this year.
