The Nuka Strategic Planning Software

Is your strategic plan available to all employees? Is it updated regularly? Does your strategic plan structure ensure alignment with your overall vision and mission? Having a sound strategic planning process can ensure that resources are allocated effectively to support the delivery of high-quality health care and to achieve your vision and mission. To support this process, Southcentral Foundation has created the Nuka Strategic Planning Software, developed in-house to provide employees with a flexible tool that supports work on annual plans.

One key part of SCF’s strategic planning process and a feature of the Nuka Strategic Planning Software is a cascading planning structure. At SCF, this begins with the Corporate Goals, which inform the Corporate Objectives, which in turn inform the Corporate Initiatives. Every work plan at SCF is associated with a Corporate Initiative, and the software allows anyone working on a plan to see what other employees and groups are doing that is related to the same Corporate Initiative. This supports collaboration and helps prevent redundant efforts. It also allows SCF leaders to see all the work being done on a particular initiative in that planning year.

At SCF, annual plans are made up of multiple work plans, each of which are associated with one Corporate Initiative. Work plans have employees who are responsible for their progress; this allows for coordinated efforts and helps ensure that work plans do not stall. The software allows the responsible employees to track progress on work plans. The software will also suggest items to the responsible employee so that everything is organized in the tool itself. Initiatives can also have responsible committees, and in those cases, work items will be suggested when plans are created for that committee.

The Nuka Strategic Planning Software has proven to be a valuable tool for SCF in ensuring that resources are allocated effectively, continuous improvement is supported, and the work of all employees supports the vision and mission of the organization. If you would like more information on or a demo of the Nuka Strategic Planning Software, or any other aspect of SCF’s Nuka System of Care, feel free to contact the SCF Learning Institute.
