Upcoming Nuka Conference: A Personal Touch to Health Care Improvement

Southcentral Foundation’s annual Nuka System of Care Conference is coming soon! This conference enables attendees to learn about SCF’s two-time Malcolm Baldrige Award-winning Nuka System of Care from the same subject matter experts who work in the system, both providing care to customer-owners and supporting those who do. A pre-conference session of SCF’s Core Concepts training, which teaches the communication skills SCF’s providers use to build relationships with customer-owners, is also available.

The Nuka System of Care Conference differs from other health care conferences in that it offers a more personal touch. At SCF, we love to hear the stories of conference attendees and what makes them passionate about the field of health care. The conference includes a cultural night featuring Alaska Native art and dance, and attendees are invited to share an expression of their culture. SCF also offers a hike up Flattop Mountain, a scenic drive along Turnagain Arm, and lunchtime bike rides along Anchorage’s Campbell Creek Trail, all of which showcase the beauty of Southcentral Alaska.

The conference offers sessions on many different aspects of SCF’s Nuka System of Care, including but not limited to integrated care teams, behavioral health integration, rural and remote care, data collection and usage, governance, trauma-informed care, managing and sustaining change, and more. SCF will also be offering workshop-length sessions on our Integrated Care Teams Playbook and our Behavioral Health Integration Playbook. These playbooks, which are available for free download on our website, provide an in-depth look at how to implement integrated care teams and/or integrated behavioral health at a health care organization, using SCF’s many years of experience as a guide.

We already have more than 100 people registered for the conference, and we are excited to welcome guests from across the United States and the world. In the past, we have had attendees from as far away as the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Singapore, and many other places. Registration is open, so sign up for the Nuka System of Care conference today! We hope to see you there. If you have any questions about the conference, or any aspect of SCF’s Nuka System of Care, feel free to contact the SCF Learning Institute.
