Student Opportunities

Southcentral Foundation’s Nuka System of Care is a relationship-based, customer-owned approach to transforming health care, improving outcomes and reducing costs.

Recognized as one of the world’s leading examples of health care redesign and a recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award, Southcentral Foundation offers several limited opportunities for students to discover and learn about primary care best practices, data and information management, integrated care, behavioral health, workforce development, improvement and innovation, and more.

Applications for clinical rotations will be opened in February for the next academic year.

Out of care for the safety and well-being of customer-owners, visitors, and employees, effective immediately Southcentral Foundation requires all students, residents, externs and Learning Institute visitors to have completed COVID-19 vaccination prior to arriving on campus.

We appreciate your understanding and willingness to help keep the community safe!

SHORT-TERM OBSERVATION

Short-term observation experience

Working one on one with a pediatrician and being able to see my own patients with her guidance was one of the best experiences I could ask for.
– Resident

Very dedicated preceptors who had time to teach. Excellent friendly staff. Sufficient autonomy was allowed. And I loved the noon exercise classes!
– Student

I liked the variety of medical conditions that I saw. Everyone that I worked with was very friendly and willing to teach.
– Student

I liked the fact that everyone in my department was willing to include me on so many things, and it was not just the CMA’s including me but also all the different providers that allowed me to work with them as well.
– CMA Extern

This clinic had a strong appreciation for evidence while still keeping patient values in high esteem. I learned a great deal about methods to increase CO adherence by the ways in which we communicate and approach their care.
– Participant

This was a wonderful clinical experience! The culture and values at SCF made it a rich learning environment for a student like me. Thank you for this opportunity!
