Behavioral Health in Remote Locations
It can often be difficult to provide quality health care in remote locations, and behavioral health is no exception to this. Southcentral Foundation has a considerable amount of experience with this; in addition to providing health care services for customer-owners in Anchorage and the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, SCF is also responsible for providing care in 55 rural villages in the Anchorage Service Unit.
Surgeon General Visits Southcentral Foundation
Dr. Jerome Adams, the United States Surgeon General, visited Southcentral Foundation this week. Dr. Adams toured the Benteh Nuutah Valley Native Primary Care Center, the Alaska Native Medical Center, and the Anchorage Native Primary Care Center.
Effective Data Usage for Quality and Care Improvement
Health care organizations have more data than ever and are struggling to determine what to measure and how to use it for improvement. Data is a critical component of decision-making in health care, and ensuring that accurate data is used properly is necessary for any reform effort a system might undertake.
Relationship-Based Care and Improved Health Outcomes
At Southcentral Foundation, we have been practicing relationship-based care for two decades. Customer-owners choose their own providers and are always free to choose another if they wish to, but most customer-owners stay with the same providers and form strong, long-term relationships.
