Nuka Learning Sessions in the UK

Interest in SCF’s Nuka System of Care remains high throughout the world. Southcentral Foundation recently visited the United Kingdom to present a series of learning sessions about Nuka. Following is a list of the organizations SCF presented to, and descriptions of the learning sessions presented:

Bromley by Bow Centre

The Bromley by Bow Centre is a community organization in east London that works to support people and families in improving their health and well-being. SCF presented a session on organizational culture change to representatives from Bromley by Bow.

King’s Fund

The King’s Fund is an independent charity working to improve health and health care in England. SCF presented at their event “Learning from new care models here and abroad: making accountable care happen.” SCF presented a session on community-based primary care.

King’s Fund and NHS England Masterclasses

In conjunction with the King’s Fund and the National Health Service (NHS) in England, the organization responsible for providing health care throughout England, SCF presented back-to-back masterclasses on various aspects of the Nuka System of Care. In addition to being attended in-person by representatives from both groups, the masterclasses were also recorded to be shown virtually to an ACO Learning Network at the King’s Fund.

SCF UK Masterclasses

While in England, SCF hosted a series of masterclasses in London. Participants from various health care and related professions learned about primary care practices for improving population health, workforce development, whole system transformation, and various other aspects of SCF’s Nuka System of Care.

NHS Scotland Meeting

SCF leadership presented to NHS Scotland in a workshop titled “Transforming Health: Lessons from Alaska” in Glasgow. The meeting was hosted by the NHS Clinical Director, and the topic was SCF’s Nuka System of Care, and how lessons from Nuka might be applicable to improve health care in Scotland.
