Upcoming Nuka Trainings Outside of Alaska

Southcentral Foundation has several upcoming Nuka trainings outside of Alaska. These trainings present an opportunity to learn about SCF’s Malcolm Baldrige Award-winning Nuka System of Care for people who may have previously been unable to do so due to the time or expense involved in traveling to Alaska. Following are details about the trainings available in the next few months:

Masterclasses in Liverpool and London
October 2 and 5

Nuka Masterclasses teach the lessons SCF has learned during our transformation into a customer-owned, relationship-based health care system. The Nuka System of Care has improved health outcomes and reduced costs by working with the community we serve and focusing on whole-person wellness. These Masterclasses, offered in Liverpool, UK on October 2, and London, UK on October 5, will provide insight into how SCF handles workflow, integration of primary care (including integration of behavioral health professionals), population-based case management, workforce development, change management, and more.

Nuka Health Care Innovation Conference in Portland, Oregon
October 23-24

The Nuka Healthcare Innovation Conference brings lessons about many different aspects of SCF’s Nuka System of Care to the Pacific Northwest. The two-day conference will feature plenary and concurrent sessions on community-driven care, workforce development, integrated care delivery, how to use data for improvement, leadership principles, and more. The keynote speaker at the conference will be Dr. Thomas Bodenheimer, Professor Emeritus of Family and Community Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, and Founding Director of the Center for Excellence in Primary Care. The conference will be offered from October 23-24 in Portland, Oregon.

Core Concepts in Los Angeles, CA
November 13-15

SCF is offering its first-ever Core Concepts training outside of Alaska in Los Angeles, California from November 13-15. Core Concepts is the training that SCF uses to teach the skills that allow us to offer the relationship-based care that has improved health outcomes and reduced costs for customer-owners. Participants will join a small learning circle and learn how they impact others, how to articulate their story from the heart, how to understand their personal and professional aspirations, and methods for good dialogue and productive conversations. Core Concepts is taught by SCF senior leadership and is led by SCF’s President/CEO.

We are excited to be offering these trainings outside of Alaska, and we hope to see you at one of them!
